Ohme ePod
The same Ohme smarts as the Home Pro in a small untethered box. The simplest tariff charger we fit.

- 7.4 kW
- single-phase
- Socket
- use your own Type 2 cable
- 3 years
- warranty
What it costs to have one fitted
including VAT at 20%
Installed price covers the charger, our standard install (wall mount within a normal cable run of the consumer unit, cable clipped or in trunking, dedicated circuit), DNO notification and the app and tariff set up.
What moves it: the cable run from the consumer unit, whether it clips to a wall or has to go under a drive, and whether the board needs anything doing to it first.
We give you a figure at the visit and put it in writing. Finance is available; Newpower Advanced Ltd is a credit broker, not a lender (FCA FRN 1037988).
Why the Ohme ePod
Ohme's tariff integration for less
Same Ohme platform, same official Intelligent Octopus Go partnership, same British Gas and E.ON support, at a lower price than the Home Pro because there is no screen or fixed cable.
Small and discreet
The ePod is one of the smallest chargers on the market. With no cable hanging from it, the wall stays tidy and it suits a front elevation where a bigger box would look wrong.
4G built in, no earth rod
Multi-network SIM with three years of data, so it works without Wi-Fi. Built-in open-PEN protection, so no earth rod.
Tethered or untethered?
Untethered: Ohme ePod
A Type 2 socket. You use the cable that came with the car, or one we supply. Tidier wall, and if you change car the charger does not care.
Tethered: Ohme Home Pro
Fixed 5 m or 8 m cable and a screen on the unit. Plug in and go every night without fetching a cable from the boot, for a little more than the socket version.

The ePod is the cheapest way into Ohme's tariff integration and the best choice for a tidy untethered install. Pay more for the Home Pro if you want the screen and a fixed cable. The Easee One is the alternative socket charger for landlords and flats, but its Octopus integration is not confirmed.
Tariff pairing: Intelligent Octopus Go
Set the ready-by time and target charge in the Ohme app; Octopus schedules the charging into the cheap overnight windows, and the car is ready when you said. We pair the charger with your account at the install.

Questions about the Ohme ePod.
How much does an Ohme ePod cost installed?
A quote in writing, covering the charger, our standard install and VAT at 20%. If you do not already have a Type 2 cable we can supply one, priced before the day.
What is the difference between the ePod and the Home Pro?
The ePod is untethered (a socket) with no screen; the Home Pro has a fixed cable and a colour display. The app, the 4G connection, the tariff integration and the warranty are identical.
Does it need Wi-Fi?
No. It connects over a built-in 4G SIM with three years of data included. Poor mobile signal in the garage is the one thing to check, and we do that at the photo survey.
Is it weatherproof?
Yes, IP54, which is fine for an exposed wall. The Home Pro and Hypervolt carry higher ratings if the charger will take a lot of direct weather.
Can I lock the cable in?
The cable locks into the car end while charging as standard. The charger end is a plain Type 2 socket; if you want a lockable socket, the Easee One has one.
Is there a grant?
Only for renters and flat owners: 75% of the cost up to £500. The ePod is OZEV-approved. Owner-occupied houses have not been eligible since 2022.
