What it costs to have one fitted

after the £7,500 grant, 0% VAT

Installed price covers the heat pump, cylinder, controls, pipework, radiator changes as designed, removal of the old boiler, MCS paperwork and the grant claimed for you.

What moves it: the heat loss of the house, how many radiators the design says have to change, where the cylinder goes, and what has to happen to the pipework. The room-by-room survey settles all four.

We give you a figure at the visit and put it in writing. Finance is available; Newpower Advanced Ltd is a credit broker, not a lender (FCA FRN 1037988).

Why the Daikin Altherma

  • A size for every home

From a small terrace to a large detached, the Altherma 3 range has an output to match, so you are never paying for a bigger pump than the heat loss needs.

  • Integrated cylinder option

The Altherma's integrated indoor unit puts the cylinder and hydraulics in one floor-standing cabinet. Where a separate cylinder is better, that works too.

  • Daikin's app and support

The Onecta app controls heating and hot water from your phone, and Daikin's UK support and parts network is among the best in the industry.

Two ways an Altherma replaces your boiler

Low-temperature design

Radiators upsized where the survey says and the pump runs cool for the lowest running cost. The standard Altherma design.

High-temperature retrofit

A high-temperature Altherma model keeps existing radiators in a home that cannot change them.

Daikin Altherma vs Mitsubishi Ecodan vs Vaillant aroTHERM plus

An honest comparison. We fit all three.

The Altherma is the pick when the size or cylinder layout of the other two does not quite fit your home, and Daikin's support is excellent. The Ecodan is the quiet, most-fitted default; the aroTHERM plus is the high-temperature specialist. The survey decides.

Tariff pairing: Cosy Octopus

The Onecta app schedules heating and hot water around Cosy Octopus's cheap windows, so the cylinder heats and the house pre-warms when electricity is cheapest. We set the schedule at commissioning.

Questions about the Daikin Altherma.

How much does a Daikin Altherma cost installed?

A three-bed is typically between £12,000 and £17,000 before the grant, so between £4,500 and £9,500 after £7,500 comes off. The firm price follows the heat loss survey.

Which Altherma models do you fit?

Do I get the £7,500 grant?

Yes, if you own the home and are replacing a fossil-fuel or electric heating system. We apply for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme on your behalf and deduct it from the price.

Is it noisy?

Modern Altherma outdoor units run at roughly 40 to 50 dB(A) at one metre. The MCS 020 noise assessment at the survey checks the level at your neighbour's nearest window and we position the unit to pass it.

Will I need new radiators?

Often some, on a low-temperature design. A high-temperature model reduces or removes the need. The heat loss survey shows it room by room.

How long is the warranty?

Daikin's own warranty, which runs longer when the unit is installed and registered by an approved installer. We register it for you, and our workmanship warranty sits on top.

Looking at a Daikin Altherma? Here is what we would fit instead.

We fit Ideal Heating, Vaillant and Mitsubishi Electric. We come and look, work out which of them suits your house, and put the price in writing.
