What it costs to have one fitted

Installed price covers the indoor and outdoor units, the insulated pipework run, condensate drain, dedicated supply, vacuum and commissioning by an F-Gas engineer.
What moves it: the size of the unit, how far the pipework has to run, and whether the outdoor unit can go straight through the wall behind the indoor one or has to be carried round the house.

Perfera: quiet and efficient
The Perfera is Daikin's top wall unit for homes: very quiet on low, top efficiency in both cooling and heating, and a built-in air purifier filter.
Stylish: designed to be seen
The Stylish is the slimmest Daikin wall unit, in white, silver or blackwood, for a living room or bedroom where the unit will be noticed.
Sky Air and VRV for business
Ceiling cassettes, ducted units and VRV systems for offices, shops, surgeries and server rooms, with the same REFCOM registered engineers.
One room, or several?
Single split
One indoor wall unit and one outdoor unit. A bedroom, loft room or home office, usually fitted in a day.
Multi-split
Two to five indoor units on one outdoor unit. Two bedrooms, or lounge plus office, with only one condenser outside.

Running cost, and pairing with solar
A bedroom unit cooling overnight uses a couple of kilowatt-hours, so it costs pennies rather than pounds. In heating mode it delivers roughly three to four units of heat per unit of electricity. With solar, daytime cooling in summer runs largely on your own generation.

How much does Daikin air conditioning cost installed?
It is priced per room, with no VAT on a fixed system in your home until March 2027. One unit in one room is the cheapest job on our books, and a second room sharing the same outdoor unit costs a good deal less than the first. The figure follows the survey.
Perfera or Stylish?
Same Daikin quality. The Perfera is quieter and more efficient with an air purifier filter; the Stylish is slimmer and comes in three finishes. Bedrooms usually get the Perfera, living rooms the Stylish.
Does it heat as well?
Yes. Every unit is a heat pump and heats the room in winter for around a third of the cost of an electric heater. Many customers use it as the main heating for a loft room or extension.
Do I need planning permission?
A single outdoor unit on most houses is permitted development, subject to size and noise conditions. Flats, listed buildings and conservation-area walls facing a road are the exceptions; we check before quoting.
Is there a grant or 0% VAT?
On VAT, yes: a fixed system in your home is zero-rated until 31 March 2027, because HMRC treats it as an air source heat pump. On the grant: There is a £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant for air-to-air heat pumps, which is what fixed air conditioning is, but nobody can claim it yet. It has to go through an installer certified by MCS for air-to-air, and no installer can be certified until the certification bodies are accredited, so not one voucher had been issued by the end of August 2026. When it opens it will only apply to a home where the new system fully replaces the gas, oil, LPG or electric heating; adding cooling to a house that keeps its boiler will not qualify. What is REFCOM?
The F-Gas certification body. The law requires anyone handling refrigerant to hold company certification; Newpower's is REF1023574. It means the system is installed, charged and recorded by qualified engineers.
