Rotherham, 28 October 2025. Newpower Advanced Ltd has been accredited as a Tesla Energy Certified Installer, which puts us on the list of Tesla Powerwall certified installers in the UK and authorises us to supply and fit the Powerwall 3 and Tesla's wall chargers.

Certification is not a badge you buy. Tesla trains and audits the installers it lists, and the hardware is only sold through them. What that means for a household is that the Powerwall goes in to Tesla's standard, by engineers Tesla has trained, and the warranty is registered properly. The rest of the range is on the battery storage page.

What do Tesla Powerwall certified installers in the UK have to do?

Tesla puts its installers through product training on design, installation, commissioning and aftercare, and it checks the work. Only certified companies can buy the hardware, and only a certified company can register the warranty at commissioning.

That matters most in year eight, not year one. A battery is a long purchase, and the difference between a claim that gets handled and a claim that gets argued is usually whether the install was documented properly at the time.

It also means we can tell you a lead time and hit it, because we order directly rather than through a middleman.

What is the Tesla Powerwall 3?

Tesla's current home battery, and a different design from the Powerwall 2 that most people picture.

It stores 13.5 kWh and can deliver up to 11.5 kW of continuous output, which is enough to run a whole house rather than a handful of circuits. The headline change is the built-in solar inverter: on a new solar install the Powerwall 3 does the job the separate inverter used to do, which means one less box on the wall and one less thing to replace later.

Capacity is expandable by adding further units where a household genuinely needs more. With a Backup Gateway it also carries the house through a power cut, switching over fast enough that most things in the house never notice.

Everything is monitored in the Tesla app: generation, charge level, what the house is drawing and what is going to the grid.

What is the Tesla Powerwall 3 installed price in the UK?

Solar with a Powerwall 3 starts from £12,500 fitted, on the 4.8 kWp system we install most: ten LONGi Hi-MO X10 panels on a three-bed semi, making between 4,500 and 4,800 kWh a year in South Yorkshire.

For comparison, that same array with a 5.12 kWh battery starts from £9,000, and solar with a smaller, compact battery starts from £6,995. The step up to the Powerwall buys more than twice the storage, whole-house output and backup in a power cut.

A Powerwall retrofitted to a solar system you already have is priced separately, because the existing inverter, the cable runs and the position of the consumer unit decide most of the work. Full package details are on the Tesla Powerwall 3 product page.

Does it work with solar I already have?

Yes. The Powerwall 3 can sit alongside an existing solar system, and we check that system over before anything is connected: the inverter, isolators, cable sizes and the consumer unit.

On a new install it is neater, because the built-in inverter means the panels connect straight to it. On a retrofit you keep the inverter you have and the Powerwall works alongside it.

Either way we notify the network operator that owns the wires in your street, and you get an updated electrical installation certificate.

What about the Tesla wall charger?

We fit those too. Tesla's Wall Connector charges at up to 7.4 kW on a single-phase domestic supply, which is what nearly every house in the UK has, and it takes any car with a Type 2 socket rather than only Teslas.

Pair it with solar and a Powerwall and the car can be charged from the roof, or set to fill overnight on a cheap tariff. More on the options on the EV chargers page.

Would I put one in my own house?

In some houses, yes, and I will be straight about which.

A Powerwall 3 earns its money where the household is out all day, comes home to a big evening load, and has enough roof to fill 13.5 kWh in summer. It earns it again where somebody wants the house to keep running in a power cut, which on rural lines and the older parts of the network is a real consideration rather than a luxury.

It does not earn its money in a two-person house that uses three or four units between six and midnight. That household will never empty it, and the same money in extra panels or a 5.12 kWh battery does more. I have talked people down from a Powerwall more than once, and I would rather do that than sell it and read the review later.

The test is your own evening consumption and how much surplus your roof actually makes in April and September, not how good the app looks.

How do I find Tesla Powerwall 3 installers near me?

Ask for the Tesla certification first, then the questions a certificate does not answer. Ask for the MCS number as well, because MCS is what gets you an export tariff on the solar side.

Then ask who you ring in year six. If the answer is a phone number nobody picks up, that tells you what the aftercare will be like.

Ours: MCS certified NAP-75287, TrustMark 3658638, RECC 00078420, one number to ring before and after the install, and rated 4.7 on Trustpilot.

Newpower is a Duracell Energy approved installer covers the smaller end of the range, and solar panel cost in Yorkshire has the full price ladder.
