Daikin air conditioning

Why people ask for Daikin by name
Daikin effectively invented the modern split system and has been refining it longer than anyone. What that buys you in a house is the two things people actually notice: how quiet the indoor unit is on its lowest fan speed, and how well it holds a temperature without hunting up and down.
The Perfera is the workhorse and the one that goes in most bedrooms and offices. The Stylish is the same machine in a much better-looking case, and it costs more for that reason and no other. Both heat as well as cool, which is the part people forget: on a cold morning a unit like this will warm a loft conversion for about a third of what a plug-in heater costs.
Every install we do is by an F-Gas certified engineer under our REFCOM registration, because handling refrigerant without it is illegal, not just unwise.
- Among the quietest indoor units on the market on low fan
- Heats in winter as well as cooling in summer
- Controlled from the Onecta app over Wi-Fi
- Fitted by F-Gas certified engineers under REFCOM registration

The honest verdict
Why we fit a lot of them
- Genuinely quiet, which is the thing that decides whether a bedroom unit gets used or resented
- The Stylish is the only indoor unit we fit that people are happy to have on a lounge wall
- Heats properly in winter, so it earns its keep all year rather than three weeks in July
- Deep parts availability and a long history of engineers who know them
What to weigh up
- You pay for the badge and, with the Stylish, for the case rather than the machine
- The 0% VAT only applies in a home; fitted to an office or a shop it carries 20%, which a VAT-registered business reclaims
- It does nothing for your hot water; it is not a replacement for a boiler or a heat pump
- The outdoor unit has to go somewhere sensible, and on a terrace that is the real constraint
Questions we get asked about Daikin
Is Daikin the quietest air conditioning?
It is among the quietest on the lowest fan speed, which is the setting a bedroom unit actually runs on. If somebody in the house is a light sleeper, this is the range we point them at.
Perfera or Stylish?
The same machine in a different case. The Perfera goes in most bedrooms and offices; the Stylish costs more and is worth it only where the unit is somewhere you look at every day.
Does it heat as well as cool?
Yes. It is a heat pump running in reverse, and in heating mode it delivers roughly three to four units of heat for every unit of electricity. Plenty of our customers use it as the main heating for a loft conversion or an extension.
Is there a grant for air conditioning?
There is a £2,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant for air-to-air heat pumps, which is what fixed air conditioning is, but nobody can claim it yet. It has to go through an installer certified by MCS for air-to-air, and no installer can be certified until the certification bodies are accredited, so not one voucher had been issued by the end of August 2026. When it opens it will only apply to a home where the new system fully replaces the gas, oil, LPG or electric heating; adding cooling to a house that keeps its boiler will not qualify. Ask us and we will tell you where it stands.
Do you need to be certified to fit it?
Yes. Anyone handling refrigerant has to be F-Gas certified, and the company has to be registered. We are REFCOM registered, number REF1023574, and every install is done under it.
