Installed price covers the unit, mounting, a dedicated circuit, DNO application, commissioning and the app set up on your phone.
What moves it: how far the unit is from the consumer unit, whether the board has a spare way, whether a gateway is going in for backup, and whether it is going on a wall or standing on the floor.
We give you a figure at the visit and put it in writing. Finance is available; Newpower Advanced Ltd is a credit broker, not a lender (FCA FRN 1037988).
Why the Duracell Energy battery
Start small, add later
Modules stack, so you can start at the size the numbers say and add more when an EV or a heat pump arrives. The cost per kWh is usually lower than an all-in-one unit.
Works with or without solar
Paired with a hybrid inverter on a new solar install, or AC-coupled to panels you already have, or on its own charging overnight on an off-peak tariff.

Two ways to fit a Duracell battery
With new solar
The battery pairs with a hybrid inverter that handles both the panels and the storage. One inverter, one app, and the surplus from the roof goes into the battery before anything is exported.
Added to existing solar, or no solar
AC-coupled with its own inverter, so your existing solar inverter stays as it is. The same set-up works for a home with no panels at all, charging on the night rate.

Duracell suits a home that wants to start with a smaller battery and grow it, or that wants the lowest installed cost for the capacity. Powerwall 3 wins on power output and whole-home backup; Fox ESS is the other modular stack and usually the cheapest route alongside new solar. Your design shows the saving for each.
Tariff pairing: Intelligent Octopus Go or Octopus Flux
Battery-only homes do best on a tariff with a cheap overnight window, charging at the off-peak rate and running the house on it through the day. With solar, Octopus Flux pays for evening export. We set the charge and discharge windows at commissioning.

Questions about the Duracell Energy battery.
How much does a Duracell home battery cost installed?
It depends on how many modules you need, which comes out of what you actually use and when rather than out of the roof. Being modular is the point: start where the numbers say and add later. Zero-rated for VAT until March 2027, and you get the figure at the visit.
Is Duracell Energy the same company as Duracell batteries?
Duracell Energy is the home energy storage division of the Duracell brand. Newpower became a certified Duracell installer in October 2025, which means we are authorised to supply, install and maintain their systems and register your warranty.
Can I add more capacity later?
Yes. The system is modular, so extra modules are added to the stack. We size the inverter and the space at the first install so that adding to it later is a short visit.
Does it work without solar panels?
Yes. On an off-peak tariff it charges at night and runs the house through the day. It is one of the most common battery-only installs we do.
Will it keep the power on in a cut?
Only if it is installed with a backup output or changeover, which we can add to most systems. Without one it shuts down in a power cut for the safety of the people working on the line.
How long is the warranty?
The manufacturer warranty comes with a guaranteed minimum capacity left at the end of its term, and our own workmanship warranty sits on top of it. We register the manufacturer warranty for you.
