EV charger shop: terms of sale

These terms apply to EV chargers ordered and paid for on this website. Please read them before you order; we email you a copy with your order confirmation.

1. Who we are

Newpower Advanced Ltd, company number 14496911, Unit 3 Bridge Court, Rotherham S60 1RD. Phone 01709 278248 (a standard-rate number), email info@newpoweruk.co.uk.

2. What you are buying

The charger you choose, supplied and installed by Newpower to BS 7671, with the standard install described on the product page: the charger on a brick or block wall, up to 10 metres of cable, one wall penetration, a dedicated protected circuit, testing, a Part P electrical installation certificate, notifying the network operator, and setting up the app and your tariff. Anything your answers added (a longer cable run, extra walls) is listed on your order.

3. Prices

All prices include VAT at 20%. The price on your order is the price you pay unless the photo survey shows your home needs work beyond what you ordered. The only such items, and their prices, are:

If any of these is needed we tell you in writing before booking. You can accept, or cancel the order and get a full refund. We never add a charge without your agreement.

4. Payment

You pay online by card or another method shown at checkout, either in full or with a £199 deposit. With a deposit, we invoice the balance after the install and it is due within 7 days of the invoice Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card details.

5. Your photos and the install date

After ordering, you send photos of your fuse board, meter and where the charger goes. We confirm the order within two working days and offer you an install date. Some homes need the network operator’s agreement first (for example a shared or “looped” supply or a small main fuse); we arrange it, and it can add a few weeks. If we cannot install for a technical reason, we refund you in full.

6. Your right to cancel

You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day the charger is installed and comes into your possession.

To cancel, tell us clearly: email info@newpoweruk.co.uk, write to Unit 3 Bridge Court, Rotherham S60 1RD, or ring 01709 278248. You can use the model form below, but you do not have to. It is enough to send your message before the 14 days run out.

Starting within the 14 days. If you tick the box at checkout asking us to install within the cancellation period and then cancel after work has started, you pay a fair amount for the work done up to the point you told us, and for any charger already fitted you may be responsible for any reduction in its value. If you do not tick it, we book your install after the 14 days.

Refunds. We refund everything you have paid, less any amount for work done as above, within 14 days of you telling us, to the payment method you used. If the charger has been fitted and you cancel, we will arrange to remove it.

7. Guarantees and your rights

The charger carries the manufacturer’s warranty, shown on the product page, which we register for you. Our workmanship is guaranteed for 2 years. These are in addition to your legal rights: the charger must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and installed with reasonable care and skill. If it is faulty within 30 days you can reject it for a refund.

Every charger we sell meets the Electric Vehicle (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021. Its statement of compliance comes with your handover pack, and it is set to the default off-peak charging schedule, which you can change in the app.

8. Grants

Flat owners and renters may be eligible for the government EV chargepoint grant. It must be approved before the install, so ask us before you order. An online order at the full price does not include the grant.

9. Complaints

Tell us first and we will put it right: see our complaints policy. If we cannot resolve it, you can refer it to the independent dispute resolution service run by RECC, the Renewable Energy Consumer Code, of which we are a member.

10. Your information

We use your details and photos to plan and carry out the install and to meet our legal record-keeping duties, as set out in our privacy policy.
